Where: Hole in the Wall Saloon at 1369 Folsom Street at 10th Street

When: Thursday, April 25th from 6 pm to 9 pm.

The club will close April by celebrating the 25th anniversary of the treasured San Francisco establishment, Hole In The Wall Saloon.

April's General Membership Meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended our April General Meeting. Here are the motions that passed:

 

1) The Club voted to support efforts to create 100% affordable housing on property administrated by the SFUSD within the Richmond District Neighborhood Center. (Unanimous.)

2) The Club voted to support AB 1784 (open-source voting) and to promote its May 11th kickoff event. (Unanimous.)

3) The Club voted to hold an endorsement vote for Chesa Boudin for SF District Attorney at our May General Meeting. (Unanimous with 1 abstention.)

4) The Club voted to hold an endorsement vote for Dean Preston for District 5 Supervisor at our May General Meeting. (Unanimous with 1 abstention.)

5) The Club voted to hold an endorsement vote for the Sunshine on Dark Money ballot measure at our May General Meeting. (Unanimous.)

6) The Club voted to hold an endorsement vote for the Free City College Fund ballot measure at our May General Meeting. (Unanimous.)

7) The Club voted to support the efforts of United to Save the Mission to reduce red lanes in the Mission. (Unanimous.)

8) And the Membership voted to endorse Kimberly Ellis for California Democratic Party Chair.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming March General Membership Meeting. The meeting will include:

1) Introductions and explanation of the March ballot and voting eligibility.

2) A brief discussion on three Milk Club E-Board nominations: Kate Usher for Treasurer; Bahlam Javier Vigil for E-Board Organizing; and Edward Wright for At-Large Seat #1. And possible nominations for more at-large board positions from the Club's President.

3) Reports from the Vice Presidents.

4) A discussion on whom to officially support for CDP Chair. Candidates and representatives are welcome to speak. Confirmed: Kimberly Ellis and a spokesperson for Daraka Larimore-Hall.

5) A discussion on the late Jeff Adachi and the future of the Public Defender's Office.

6) A discussion on SB 1045, expanded conservatorship.

7) Open forum & new business from the Membership.

8) A discussion on 2019's board elections and ongoing mediation efforts.

Thank you to everyone who attended our February General Membership Meeting and to all of our Members who renewed for 2019!

1) The President officially nominated Kate Usher for Treasurer, Bahlam Vigil for Executive Board for Organizing, and Edward Wright for At-Large Seat #1. The full Membership will vote on these nominations at our March General Membership Meeting.

2) Motion #1: A call to end all homeless sweep in San Francisco forever and to pressure City Hall leaders to do the same and to endorse an upcoming City Hall hearing on Rainstorm Sweeps on March 7th at noon at Room 250. (It passed unanimously.) Details are here.

3) Motion #2: A call to support Safe Organized Spaces: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/safeorganizedspaces. Please visit this link and fill out the survey. (It passed unanimously.)

4) Motion #4: A call to support the campaign kickoff for Kimberly Ellis for CA Democratic Party Chair on Monday, February 25th at 7pm at Manny's, located at 3092 16th Street. (It passed with 3 abstentions.) Details are here.

5) Motion #5: A call to support Senator Scott Wiener's SB 233, prohibiting the arrest of people involved in sex work when they come forward as a witness or victim of a specified violent and serious crime. (It passed unanimously.)

6) Motion #6: A call to save the tenants of the Redstone Labor Temple. Please attend their event on Wednesday, February 27th at 6pm at 2940 16th Street. (It passed unanimously.) Details are here.

The Milk Club will be holding its elections for its 2019 Board Members on Tuesday, January 15th at 7pm at The Women's Building. So mark your calendars.

Milk Club Annual Holigay Fete

When: Saturday, December 8th from 4pm to 8pm.

What a year it has been! We are so grateful for this awesome community and the relentless work we’ve done together in fighting the oppressive moves of our current bigot in chief. In the wake of our recent midterm elections, we’re still celebrating our victories and feeling the losses. Please join us as we bid adieu to 2018 and gear up for what is ahead. 

Food will be provided, your favorite bartenders keeping your glass filled at the cash bar, and a photo booth for those ready to strike a pose!

Wrapping up the party, we’ll get down to a little business with a quick agenda, including the official kickoff of 2019's Milk Club Board nominations. Check back for details soon!
