February PAC Meeting: Getting to 46k
Join the Political Action Committee (PAC) of the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club on Tuesday, February 14, at 7pm, for our February PAC Meeting. This will be a hybrid meeting, in person at Milk-SF Cafe (302 Valencia St) and on Zoom (link will be provided in a Tuesday reminder).

At this meeting, the PAC will discuss the Housing Element passed by the Board of Supervisors on January 31. We will focus on how the City can build the mandated 46K new affordable housing units. Guest speakers will be announced closer to the meeting. We will also revisit our housing justice platform plank draft (topic deferred from January PAC meeting). Time-permitting, we will hold an open forum for attendees to share their thoughts on recent political headlines, such as those related to Laguna Honda, trans rights, police brutality, mass shootings, and the Castro Theatre.

Don't miss it!
2023 Milk Club Membership Retreat
Dear fellow members of the Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club,

It is with great excitement that I extend an invitation to you to join us at our upcoming membership retreat to be held on Monday, February 20, 2023, on President’s Day.

This is a crucial moment for our club and for our progressive movement, and your presence at the retreat will be essential in shaping our direction and securing a brighter future for the LGBTQ community.

At the retreat, we will have the opportunity to come together as a community, connect with one another, and discuss the top issues facing the LGBTQ community and the progressive movement as a whole. You will have the chance to shape the direction of the club and ensure that it is focused on the most important issues facing the community. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to network with other progressive organizations and individuals, which can help us build new alliances and strengthen existing ones.

Most importantly, we will be planning for electoral success in 2024. With your help, we can develop strategies for voter outreach, coalition building, and fundraising that will ensure that our club is well-positioned to make an impact in the upcoming election.

I strongly encourage you to attend this membership retreat. It is only through your involvement and participation that we can secure a bright future for the LGBTQ community and the progressive movement as a whole. I look forward to seeing you there and working together to achieve our shared goals.

Please RSVP on our website at milkclub.org/retreat — you don’t want to miss it.

Yours in solidarity,

Jeffrey Kwong

The Milk Club is unapologetically progressive and proudly queer. Since 1976, we have built power with and for all of the “Us’s” — San Francisco’s most vulnerable communities — in order to be free from scarcity, oppression, and machine politics.
