MICHAEL NAVA

Michael is a third generation Californian from Sacramento and the grandson of Mexican immigrants. He was the first person in his family - and the only of his five siblings - to attend college and enter a profession.

Michael is also a professional, published writer. As a lawyer he has written a law review article and numerous opinion pieces about the judiciary. He co-authored a book about the constitutional rights of gays and lesbians. In addition, he is also also the author of seven novels published between 1986 and 2002 featuring the cases of a gay criminal defense lawyer named Henry Rios. His novels have won wide praise and many honors.

RAFAEL MANDELMAN

Rafael has served as President of the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club and the Noe Valley Democratic Club, and has twice been elected to the San Francisco Democratic Party, where he currently serves as Vice-Chair.

In each of these roles, Rafael has worked to build coalitions between neighborhoods, activists, affordable housing advocates, environmentalists, working people and all others who believe the purpose of politics is to build a better world.

DEBRA WALKER

Debra has lived and worked in our neighborhoods since 1985. Her record of progressive activism - and accomplishment - is unmatched in the field of District 6 candidates. As a tenant representative on the Building Inspection Commission, Debra helped clean up a notoriously corrupt department and guarantee that new development in District 6 works for everyone. And as a small businesswoman herself, Debra will make sure city government listens to the concerns of struggling shops and businesses all over the district.

We all wish the best to all our endorsed candidates as we support them by actively volunteering in their campaigns and raising funds to help them towards victory.

GOOD LUCK!
