It's the first meeting of the Harvey Milk Club for the year! Join us as we hear from local organizers about how to #ResistTrump and get involved in #J20 inauguration day protest activities, learn a little more about the City budget and what's happening with funding for things like free City College, and hear from candidates running for the 2017 Harvey Milk Executive Board. This meeting is open to the public.
Members in good standing, who either renewed their dues in 2016 or joined the Club before November 15th, will be eligible to cast their votes in this year's Club officer election. Voting will be open from 7-9pm.
Club officer nominations are still being accepted until January 17th.

Is now the winter of our discontent? HELL YES! What better time then to take a moment for self-care and nurture before the long battles ahead?
Your family (the progressive political one) is hosting our annual Holigay Fête- Forty years of progressive politics and holiday cheer sure to warm even the coldest of cockles!
As always, we will have tasty nosh and fortifying libations throughout, punctuated with a little auctioning and, of course, this coming year's Executive Board Nominations.
What's more, this year we have decided to make our gay-apparelled gathering an Saturday afternoon repast, so membership and new friends alike may bring along the little ones without having to worry about those tiresome holiday babysitting phone calls.
For the second year in a row, this will also serve as a joint fundraiser for not just the Club, but our friends divine, la Galeria de la Raza. Auctioned items will benefit the Club, with beverages benefiting the Galería.
So put on those cowbells, Lady Iris, it's almost time to make your entrance stage left.

Premiering at the Castro Theatre in 1984, The Times of Harvey Milk chronicles the political career of Harvey Milk, San Francisco's first openly gay elected official, and his rise from a neighborhood activist to a symbol of gay political achievement, through to his assassination in November 1978. Winning an Oscar for Best Documentary Film, international acclaim, selection into the National Film Registry in Library of Congress, the documentary later became inspiration for Gus Van Sant’s 2008 Oscar-winning biopic, Milk.
State Senate Debate: Jane Kim & Scott Wiener
On Wednesday, April 6th, the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club, the Alice B. Toklas LGBT Democratic Club, and the Bay Area Reporter will co-host a debate between the Democratic candidates for State Senate District 11, Supervisors Jane Kim and Scott Wiener.
This is an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about their policy positions, campaign platforms, and what their priorities will be if elected. After a moderated debate, there will be time for Q&A with the audience. Arrive promptly to ensure a seat, as seating is limited.
